Finding a service for mental health and substance use health
This directory highlights services that are free or offered by a non-profit organization for an income-based fee. It does not include services that require a referral from a doctor or other service providers, such as psychiatry. AccessMHA can help people aged 16 and older connect with the best services for their mental health and substance use health needs.

- Children’s Mental Health Services – A variety of mental health services offered to children and families.
- Trenton Military and Family Resource Centre – Confidential services and resources that support the well-being of military families serving at 8 Wing/CFB Trenton.
- Youthab – A community based non-profit organization helping young people living in the Quinte area obtain and maintain safe and affordable housing, good mental health and employment.
Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington
- KAIROS – Youth Diversion – Counselling service for youth experiencing any level of substance abuse.
- Kingston Military Family Resource Centre – Mental health and well-being services and supports for military families, medically-releasing Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members or medically-released veterans and their families; including walk-in sessions, counselling, self-help groups, and navigation.
- Maltby Centre – Mental health services including walk-in counselling clinics, ongoing mental health treatment services (individual, family, group), intensive in-home coaching, crisis intervention, psychoeducational groups (e.g., parenting your anxious child), and access to psychiatry and psychology consultation for clients in service. Manages the centralized triage that includes the Child and Youth Mental Health Program at Kingston Health Sciences Centre.
- Psychology Clinic at Queen’s – Psychological assessment and treatment services for difficulties with learning, attention, behaviour, communication or other issues that make day-to-day life difficult.
- Resolve Counselling Services – A variety of programs and services to support individuals, couples, and families overcome challenges that affect their emotional and social well-being.
- Transgender Clinic – Kingston Community Health Centres – Counselling services for individuals who identify as transgender or intersex and their families, in addition to other gender-affirming medical services.

- 1 Call, 1 Click – Helps children and families find the best mental health care for them. For ages 0 to 21.
- Children’s Mental Health of Leeds and Grenville – For children, youth and families living in Leeds and Grenville.
- John Howard Society – Help for young people, homeless people, and people involved with the law get mental health care. Also offers Connect Youth Services for youth ages 12 to 25 in Leeds and Grenville. Offers help with basic needs, life skills, transportation and housing for youth ages 12 to 25.
- Lanark, Leeds and Grenville Addictions and Mental Health – Addiction services for any age.
- Open Doors Mental Health – For children, youth and families living in Lanark County.

AccessMHA simplifies the process for people 16 years or older in eastern Ontario, offering a single starting point for accessing support for mental health, substance use health and addictions concerns.
A trained professional works with you to connect you with the right services, ensuring you are placed on the correct lists to access services as quickly as possible. AccessMHA is committed to supporting you throughout your entire journey.
Hastings and Prince Edward Counties
- The Enrichment Centre for Mental Health – A non-profit agency that strives to enhance the mental wellness and quality of life of people in our diverse community. Through direct services, education, advocacy, and individual involvement they work together to create an environment that supports mental well-being.
- Canadian Mental Health Association Hastings Prince Edward Addictions and Mental Health Services – Offers a variety of programs and services that assist individuals 16 years of age and older, with reaching their short and long-term addictions and mental health goals.
- Peer Support Services of Southeast Ontario – Peer support programs and services for people experiencing mental health and/or addiction concerns.
- Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Clinic – Canadian Mental Health Association Hastings Prince Edward County – Low-barrier clinics that provides time-limited medical addiction care, including pharmacotherapy, brief counselling, and referrals to community services. The Rapid Access Addiction Medicine clinic area available in Bancroft, Belleville, Picton, Trenton, and Tweed. Call for more information.
- Trenton Military and Family Resource Centre – Confidential services and resources that support the well-being of military families serving at 8 Wing/CFB Trenton.
Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington
- Addiction and Mental Health Services – KFLA – Community-based mental health and addiction services and supports for people with addictions or serious mental illness (e.g., schizophrenia, psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder), including case management, housing, problem gambling or gaming, and crisis services.
- Bereaved Families of Ontario – Kingston – Support groups for people who have experienced or are preparing for a death, including survivors of suicide.
- Catalyst Program (Crystal Meth Contingency Management) – Kingston Community Health Centres – A 16-week program with support from an addictions counselor, occupational therapy, registered nurse, and community support worker.
- Centre for Abuse and Trauma Therapy – Psychotherapy and support for people who have experienced recent or past abuse or trauma.
- Detoxification Centre – Kingston Health Science Centre – Short-term, co-ed residential service to support safe withdrawal for those aged 16+.
- Family Repair Program – ReSolve Counselling Services Canada – Counselling/therapy, education, training, and facilitated connections to ease the effect of substance use on families.
- Integrated Care Hub – AMHS KFLA – A safe and welcoming space providing low-barrier access to harm reduction supplies, consumption and treatment services. Available 23 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Kingston Community Health Centres – Counselling and therapy services for individuals, couples, youth, and families, as well as group programs to promote skill development related to self-care, wellness, and managing powerful emotions. Intended for those who cannot access services through private benefits or afford fee-based services.
- Kingston Military Family Resource Centre – Mental health and well-being services and supports for military families, medically-releasing Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members or medically-released veterans and their families; including walk-in sessions, counselling, self-help groups, and navigation.

- Mother Matters – Women’s College Hospital – An eight week online support group for women with mood and adjustment challenges following the birth of their baby.
- Postpartum Support International – Offers online and phone support.
- Thrive – Support for women who are pregnant or parenting children under six years of age, who has been or currently is substance involved or receiving methadone treatment.
Region specific
- Connecting Moms – Circles of Support Drop-in group – Thursdays from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at 115 Clarence Street. Offered by Queens Family Health Team.
- Motherwise – Addictions and Mental Health Services – KFLA – A free, confidential service that uses a harm reduction framework to support individuals who are pregnant or parenting children under age six who are experiencing addiction issues.
- Psychology Clinic at Queens University – Offers one-on-one support and groups.
Indigenous mental health and substance use health services
- The Mohawks of Bay of Quinte Good Minds Program – can deliver many services including counselling, youth programming, circles (groups), ceremonies, addictions. Call 613-967-0122.
- The Métis Nation of Ontario Mental Health and Addictions Program – is offered Ontario-wide and includes a wide range of services and supports to Métis children, youth, and adults. Services are delivered in person, over the phone, or by video conference. Call 1-800-263-4889, extension 7.

- ConnexOntario – Free and confidential support to find services for problems with alcohol and drugs, mental illness or gambling. Information includes where the service is located, how to access the service, and how long the wait to access service may be.
- Farmer Wellness Program – 1-866-267-6255 – Offers farmers and their families free counselling sessions with a professional.
- Good2Talk Post-secondary Student Helpline – 1-866-925-5454 or text GOOD2TALKON to 686868 – Professional counselling for post-secondary students, available 24/7.
- Kids Help Phone – 1-800-668-6868 or text CONNECT to 686868 – Professional counselling for children and youth, available 24/7.
- Men’s Counselling Link – 211 – 24-hour crisis line to provide to professional counselling and support for men who are experiencing stress, relationship conflict, harmful behaviours, or personal challenges. Callers are connected to counsellors through Family Service Ontario agencies, either virtually or in-person.
- Talking4Healing – Ontario Native Women’s Association – 1-855-554-5325 – Support for Indigenous women.
- Telephone Aid Line Kingston – A confidential, anonymous, and non-judgmental volunteer-based support service. 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.
- We Believe Survivors – Text 613-544-6424 or chat at WeBelieveSurvivors.ca – A secure online chat and text service that provides emotional support, information, resources, and safety planning techniques to survivors of sexual violence, regardless of gender and/or identity.

- RiseUp, Kids Help Phone – Text RISE to 686868 – 24/7 bilingual e-mental health support service for Black youth.
- Telephone Aid Line Kingston – A confidential, anonymous, and non-judgmental volunteer-based support service. 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.

- YWHO Virtual Hub — Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario – A safe and secure platform where youth aged 12 to 25 years can receive access to timely, high quality, integrated youth services, including mental health and substance use services, as well as primary care, community and social support services.

- National Overdose Response Service (NORS) – 1-888-688-6677 – A harm reduction hotline that provides confidential, nonjudgmental overdose prevention 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Call before using drugs to connect with someone who will help access emergency support services in the case of overdose or poisoning. Safer drug use education, mental health first aid, and referrals available.
