Following a serious breach of Ontario’s Food Premises Regulation, South East Health Unit (SEHU) has ordered closure of the North China Buffet in Belleville, Ontario under a Section 13 of the Health Protection and Promotion Act requiring that the premises remain closed until the identified health hazards are eliminated and the operator can demonstrate full compliance with public health regulations. South East Health Unit is working closely with the restaurant operator to ensure all violations are addressed and that appropriate corrective actions are implemented. The restaurant will remain closed until a full reinspection determines the premises is safe to reopen.
Although no illness has been reported at the time of this release, patrons of the North China Buffet who are experiencing symptoms of illness are encouraged to contact South East Health Unit at 613-966-5500, extension 677.
